Most Expensive Cars to Insure (2009)

Insure.com announced the Most Expensive Cars to insure for 2009 in a great article a few months back. Some of these cars we would expect to see very high car insurance premiums for such as the Porsche 911 and Ford Shelby GT 500 however what was very interesting is MotorTrend’s 2009 “car of the year” award went to the Nissan GT-R and this was # 1 on the list of cars with the highest auto insurance rates. The top 20 cars to insure in 2009 were (in order):

  • Ford Shelby GT500
  • Mercedes-Benz G-Class
  • Audi S8

It should be no surprise that most of these models are sports cars or luxury vehicles but its always nice to see the list of the most expensive cars to insure.
