Key takeaways...

  • Allstate offers students a variety of discounts
  • State Farm rewards loyal customers with lower monthly premiums
  • AAA offers roadside assistance to its customers

There are ways to save money, starting with your car insurance. The following is a compilation of auto insurance companies that offer great student car insurance discounts. It isn’t cheap to go to school nowadays or for young people to drive. A lack of experience works against young drivers both on the road and when shopping for insurance.

Tuition fees are increasing just about everywhere. Textbooks prices have soared up. Renting out apartments is almost as expensive as paying off a mortgage.

If you own a car, it can almost be a burden to keep: gas prices hiking up, maintenance, and insurance.

It is hard to keep up with everything, but comparing car insurance with our zip code search will save you money! Enter your zip code above to get started!

How Much Can You Save with Allstate Car Insurance?

Individuals who choose this company are privy to the following discounts:

  • 20 percent Good Student Discount
  • 45 percent Good Driver Discount
  • 30 percent on New Cars
  • $100 off deductible at sign-up and then $100 every year without an accident
  • Loyal Customer Discount
  • Multiple Vehicle Discount

With great discounts for just about everything, Allstate car insurance makes the top of the list. Their policies can be found through a captive or independent agent. Many agents focus on Allstate even when other companies might be cheaper. Luckily, there are many discounts available if you’re looking in the right places.

Your discounts will be based on varying factors, such as which state you reside in and how long you have had your driver’s license. Student discounts for good grades are relatively standard. Many drivers of all ages are also getting discounts for taking defensive driving courses or allowing companies to track certain behaviors with telematics devices.

One of the unique prospects of Allstate is that they will knock $100 off your deductible when you first sign up and then give you $100 every year you go without an accident. If you go without an accident for long enough, your auto insurance premiums could be offset by the lack of a deductible after an accident.

Is State Farm Car Insurance The Right Choice for You?

State Farm also offers their customers a variety of discounts, which include:

  • 25 percent Good Student Discount
  • 10 percent Good Driver Discount
  • 25 percent after 3 years without an accident
  • Loyal Customer Discount
  • Multiple Vehicle Discount

Coming in second is State Farm car insurance. It offers a 25 percent student discount, which is better than Allstate. State Farm policies are generally sold through captive agents who only quote their policies. If you want a quote on another insurance policy, you’d have to find a different insurance agent.

However, Allstate does offer the good driver discount up to 45 percent off for being a good driver.

Like Allstate, State Farm also offers an incentive for being a loyal customer and insuring multiple vehicles.

Nationwide Car Insurance

Nationwide is known for rewarding their customers with the following discounts:

  • 15 percent Good Student Discount
  • 10 percent after five years Without an Accident
  • 15 percent After 5 years with Company
  • Loyal Customer Discount
  • Multiple Policy Discount

Although Nationwide car insurance does not currently reward students with good academics as well as Allstate and State Farm, they do have many ways in which you can save yourself money, including a 15 percent discount after five years with the company.

Depending on which state you live, they may also send you a check each year you go without an accident, but it isn’t as much as Allstate.

AAA Car Insurance

In addition to roadside assistance, AAA offers its customers the following perks:

  • 10 percent Good Student Discount
  • 20 percent Good Driver Discount
  • Multiple Policy Discount

AAA car insurance is a very reputable insurance company and they offer students up to a 10 percent discount with good grades and another 20 percent for having a clean driving record.

Even if you have your policy with another company, you can still purchase a roadside assistance card from AAA. For example, you only have basic liability insurance.

You can purchase the card and use it in an event you are stranded somewhere or you locked your keys inside your vehicle.

Another perk of the card is that you can use it for your family or friends as long as you are there to sign the claim form.

The card can be used up to 5 times in a one year period and only costs $50.

Esurance Car Insurance

Esurance offers its customers easy online access in addition to the following discounts:

  • 10 percent Good Student Discount
  • 20 percent Good Driver Discount
  • Multiple Policy Discount

Perhaps the most popular with students is Esurance. Although their discounts are not among the best, their rates are relatively low. For this reason, many students go with Esurance.

Sometimes it is better to pay $50 a month with a 10 percent discount than $100 a month with a 25 percent discount.

Remember to shop around first before deciding on any one insurance company.

Depending on what kind of packages and coverages you opt for, the prices will vary greatly.

If you are looking for just a simple, basic liability package for an older car make sure that that is all you ask for when shopping. And, of course, ask about what good student discount the company may offer!
