State Farm’s Helium Commercial

When State Farm released its Helium commercial, it put a comedic spin on the meaning of the word incident. Something as scary as a fender bender was taken lightly, as a helium leak altered the voices of everyone chanting it nearby.

State Farm has been providing quality auto insurance for over 100 years, and it was labeled the second most popular insurance provider in the United States.

Allstate’s Teenage Girl in Pink Truck Commercial

Allstate released a series of car insurance commercials for their Allstate Mayhem campaign. They featured Dean Winters as a character named Mayhem, who endured a series of car-related incidents that highlighted the benefits of being insured. In this 30-second commercial, Mayhem takes on the identity of an emotional teenage girl who is driving while in distress to promote the power of Allstate’s accident coverage.

In addition to its accident coverage, the company offers optional accident forgiveness protection that promises its policyholders rate stability after an accident — regardless of whether it was their fault or not.

Liberty Mutual’s Double Dutch Commercial

In Liberty Mutual’s 30-second commercial, three young girls play a double dutch game and sing a song about Liberty Mutual. Things get comical once they ask the question, How much can Liberty Mutual save you? The girls continue into a count-up that we notice has taken so long that they are getting old and gray before our eyes.

Liberty Mutual has 4.4% of the auto insurance market, and it is currently the fifth-largest property and casualty insurer around the globe.

GEICO’s Happier Than a Witch in a Broom Factory Commercial

GEICO is known for creating lovable and memorable characters, such as Martin the Gecko, GEICO’s mascot. In 2012, the insurance company teamed up with Director/Musician Alex Harvey and Actor/Comedian Timothy Ryan to launch its Get Happy, Get GEICO campaign. It featured a 30-second commercial promoting GEICO’s famous savings of up to 15% or more. The closing line stated that customers are “happier than a witch in a broom factory” when they switch to GEICO and save hundreds of dollars.

GEICO, or the Government Employees Insurance Company, is known for its slogan assuring it can save customers 15% or more on car insurance. Most of the company’s commercials star the gecko, but they traded scales and a tail for a broomstick and a spacious broom factory this time around.

Progressive’s Rate Suckers Commercial

According to Insurance Business America, Progressive is the number one commercial auto insurer in the United States. Like the company’s rate suckers commercial, Progressive is a family company. When its commercials aren’t centered around Flo, the company’s mascot, they are typically centered around a family.

Child actor Carlos C. Torres stars in rate suckers as he and his father prepare to enjoy a cozy ride in the car. But scary creatures called rate suckers, whose bad driving is said to make car insurance more expensive for the rest of us, emerge and suck through the vehicle’s windshield.

The General Auto’s Singing Commercial

This hilarious insurance commercial from The General Auto features basketball player Shaquille O’Neal, but its message is centered around the company’s remarkable savings. For nearly 60 years, The General Auto has been saving people money on their auto insurance. Like The General, the shower saves Shaq from embarrassment as it disguises his average singing voice into a professional one.

The General traded in its animated General for a real-life scenario that made car insurance relatable for everyone.

Esurance’s Star Trek Commercial

Esurance’s Star Trek commercial doesn’t look like it will be one of the funniest insurance commercials at first glance. An alien-like face appears on a monitor after an incident occurs in a Star Trek-themed environment. He seems to have bumped into something or someone, but he assures the others that he has Esurance. Convinced that he has been injured, they inform the alien one last time of his bruises, but he tells them that it is the way his face is.

Esurance was founded in 1999, and since then, it has expanded to operate in 43 states. If you are seeking affordable rates for multiple insurance policies, bundling is one of Esurance’s specialties.

Nationwide’s Accident Forgiveness Commercial

For over a decade, Nationwide has been running a series of accident forgiveness commercials. In this funny insurance commercial, a car crashes into a vehicle with a couple sitting inside it. The driver hops out of the car to ask for forgiveness, but it prompts the woman to hit him in the head with her purse.

Since 1925, Nationwide has been providing its policyholders with quality insurance. The company offers accident forgiveness coverage as an add-on that can be applied to any average car insurance policy.

Travelers’ Rattlesnake Commercial

In this witty 30-second commercial from Travelers insurance, a rattlesnake and a rabbit encounter each other for the first time. Like a rattlesnake that cannot rattle, competitors may be more aggressive with their marketing tactics, but Travelers insurance makes them look like a joke every time.

Travelers received an A++ rating from A.M. Best, the highest rating they provide. When the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) rates an insurance company based on the number of complaints it receives, it is always compared to the national average of 1. Travelers was rated a 0.43, which means the company receives fewer complaints than most competitors.

CURE Auto Insurance’s Whip It Out Commercial

CURE Auto insurance released a hilarious auto insurance commercial that ran during the Super Bowl. The Whip It Out commercial’s dry humor centered around an employee’s decision to “whip out” his opinion in front of a female colleague. While an opinion gone wild can be tough to manage, the commercial tells its consumers that protecting your vehicle from damage is much easier and safer.

CURE Auto insurance, also known as Citizens United Reciprocal Exchange, is a private passenger auto insurance provider for Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania drivers. Since CURE Auto insurance is a relatively new insurance company, there are limited ratings available.

Auto Insurance Is No Laughing Matter

According to Forbes, the average American is exposed to around 4,000 to 10,000 advertisements a day. Out of all of them, these commercials may be the most memorable. While they can easily be misinterpreted as being all fun and games, auto insurance should not be taken lightly.
