In Colorado, the person responsible, or “at fault,” for an accident must pay for any damages. As we described above, that means that the insurance policy provided by the at-fault driver will pay for injuries and damage up to the policy limits.

According to traffic data site INRIX, Denver is the 19th most congested city in the United States and ranks 112th worldwide. Drivers there spent an average of 83 minutes in congested traffic each day in 2018.

As you can see in the chart above, in the more populated cities of Boulder and Denver, drivers spent more time in traffic congestion, mostly during peak commutes in the morning and evening. In the daytime and overall, the numbers were lower, but remained steady.
